Traveloka drives into the car rental space
INDONESIAN travel giant Traveloka is keeping up with the ever-changing tech industry, with major launches of services that are coming in waves.
But clearly, Traveloka had more tricks up its sleeve.
On top of its current services, the company has also rolled out a new car rental service.
With the new feature, Traveloka aims up its hospitality game and make renting cars as easy breezy as booking flight and train tickets.
Currently, the service is available in 11 Indonesian cities: Jakarta, Bali, Medan, Yogyakarta, Makassar, Palembang, Malang, Balikpapan, Surabaya, Semarang and Bandung.
“We are offering this car rental service as part of out commitment to present a fun travel experience to our customers,” Traveloka business development senior vice president Christian Suwarna said in a statement.
Suwarna added that the car rental service will complement the company’s effort to provide an integrated travel necessities in just one app.
How does it work?
The company engaged more than 100 car rental service providers to make this possible.
Whether you require a compact car for solo-driving or a MPV for the whole family, it will provide various types of vehicles to cater to every need.
Interestingly, Traveloka’s car rental service also boasts an all-inclusive package consisting of fuel, parking, road tolls, driver hire, meals for the driver, as well as accommodation for the driver for those traveling outside the city.
Everything is accessible via the company’s app. With a few flicks and taps, users will be able to rent a car 12 hours prior to pick-up time.
All you need to do is choose your city, date, duration of travel, pick-up time, and of course, the car you want. Then, fill out your personal data, pick an additional package if need be, and choose your preferred payment method.
Once the payment is through, Traveloka will conduct a verification before sending a booking voucher to your e-mail.
The car rental partner will then send the driver’s contact within 24 hours prior to pick-up time.
For now, the service is available for Android devices only as the service is currently in beta stage.
But fret not. As it is being launched in stages, it’ll be made available to everyone else in no time.
