Happy, bouncy giant playground of balloon art returns to Singapore

SINGAPORE is gearing up for playtime as the Art-Zoo Inflatable Park @ i Light Marina Bay returns next month.

Created by Singaporean artist, curator and designer Jackson Tan, the giant playground of balloon art will feature a new line up of 15 giant inflatable clusters for visitors of all ages. Inspired by the creator’s memories of visiting and drawing the animals at Singapore Zoo, the park is designed to encourage visitors to explore nature through accessible and interactive art.

“This year, we have created a new line up of giant inflatables with characters from our natural habitat, where some species are at risk of becoming endangered, extinct, or exist only in our imagination. I hope Art-Zoo will inspire visitors to not just have fun and stretch their imagination, but also do their part for conservation,” said Tan.

Other than real-life characters, Tan also created larger-than-life mythical creatures from his imagination.

The Art-Zoo Inflatable Park was first launched in Singapore as part of the i Light Marina Bay festival in March 2017, which showcased the large-scale creative installation within urban city space. The inflatables occupied a significant venue area of approximately 100,000 square feet at The Float @ Marina Bay, creating a colourful and interactive playground set against the iconic city skyline of Singapore’s Marina Bay area.

The event attracted more than 70,000 new audiences over three weeks.

In December 2017, the park ventured out of Singapore for the first time, traveling to Kaoshiung in Taiwan for a three month-long event.

The park will be open daily 5pm to 10pm, from March 9 until April 1. Entry tickets can be bought from artzooworld.com or at the gates.

An Art-Zoo Inflatable Park preview tour will also be happening Bedok Mall, Bugis+, JCube, Plaza Singapura, Raffles City and Westgate in Singapore.
